Margaret Thatcher (1925 - 2013) was the first woman to reach the position of Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. She was born in London in 1925 as Margaret Hilda Roberts and worked as a chemist and lawyer. He married businessman Denis Thatcher in 1951 with whom he had two twin children in 1953. He was elected as a member of parliament in 1959.

He supported the laws for decriminalize homosexuality, legalize abortion and maintain capital punishment. In 1970 she was appointed Minister of Education and in 1979 she became Prime Minister. Margaret Thatcher was pointed out as a woman of strong personality which earned her the nickname "The Iron Lady".

He also wrote several books. In 2003 her husband Denis died. Margaret Thatcher died on April 8, 2013 at the age of 87 at the Ritz Hotel in London after suffering a stroke.
